Safeguarding Policy
Good learning will not happen unless pupils are safe, well and happy. Pupil safety and well-being is of paramount importance to all St Mary's Staff. You can view our policies for health and safety, child protection, internet safety and behaviour here.
Designated Leads for Child Protection
Under the act of parliament, 'Keeping Children Safe in Education', all staff working in schools have a responsibility to follow up any safeguarding concerns about children in their care. Staff at St Mary's are well aware of this, but 4 staff members take an overview of child protection and they are Mr Oliver Butterwick, Mrs Gill Whitehead and Mrs Carol Benson. If you have any concerns about a child, please contact one of them via the school office. Mrs Julia Norton is our governor with responsibility for safeguarding. She can also be contacted via the school office.
