At St Mary's School we believe that opportunities to listen to and perform music are an important part of the school experience.  We all love to sing!

All children have a weekly class music lesson in which they have the opportunity to listen to, perform and compose music.   They also work on a varied reportoire of songs for performances, collective worship and services at St Mary's church throughout the school year.

All children have the opportunity to perform in a Christmas production whilst in Year R, 1 and 2 and a Summer production in Year 5 and 6.  St Mary's puils also regularly participate in larger preformance projects with other schools through organisations such as Opera North.

In addition to their curricular music, pupils at St Mary's can join our choir and singing clubs.  They perform regularly in Boston Spa.  Some children take the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, and we always look forward to hearing them play for us.
